TATTOO THANK YOU

This card and the reason for this card are VERY special to me. I lost my mom to cancer in 2004. She was my best friend, mother and angel all wrapped up in one. My world came to a complete stop the day she died. From the day forward I wanted to honor my mother with something. After 8 years i realized that i wanted to get a tattoo in honor of her. The tattoo (pictured in the fourth picture above) is a scroll with kanji writing saying "In Memory of Mom". At the top and bottom the scroll has blue peonies. Around that it has pink cherry blossoms. So i wanted to make a card for the tattoo artist who 100% made a beautiful memorial for my mother on my back. The front of the card I used my Pagoda Cuttlebug A2 embossing folder. I made two of these. The base is on blue paper with stickles glue on the waves. I cut out the 3 fish on the second embossed paper and used orange, black and white embossing powder. I attached them using foam squares to the blue paper. I stamped the Thank You and attached it to the card with a metal frame using two black brads. I had some black flower ribbon at the top with a black embellishment. I attached this to the orange pice of paper that i got out of DCWV Far East. On the inside I used both side of the card. On the left I used a Tim Holtz stamp for the sentiment and the Pagoda Cartridge for the flowers. I wanted to make sure the flowers matched the flowers in my tattoo. I framed the stamped sentiment using paper form DCWV Lemon Flower Stack. The other side i took a picture of my back with the tattoo and framed it using the DCWV Far East. I stamped my name and used my Making Memories Tag Maker to give it a border. I used some foam squares on the flowers and the name sentiment to give it some depth. I finished it all up with an eyelet with a piece of twine to tie it shut.

  5. Hi, Ken

So sorry to hear about your mom (I lost mine in 1990, to breast cancer as well), so between that and being a mother myself, think it is so beautiful how you honored yours!
