Well some good friends of ours wanted to celebrate their 5 year anniversary with us. They got married 5 years ago in Hawaii at a place called Mama's fish house. It was both of theirs second marriage so they wanted a private wedding with their kids. Anyways I wanted to make them a special card and incorporate Hawaii and Mama's Fish House into the card. Here is what i came up with:
I started with a 5X7 card that I created on my Silhouette Studio software. I then downloaded this design from the Silhouette Online Store. I cut the group at 5 inches tall and broke down each piece. I used different pattern card stock for the different parts. I raised all of it up using foam squares. I used a pre-made border for the flowers along the bottom of the card. I designed the sentiment template in my Silhouette Design Studio. Then using the grenouille font I typed the sentiment in orange to match the flowers in the border. I took two small buttons in coordinating colors and glued to the top and bottom of the sentiment. The sentiment is Happy Anniversary in Hawaiian:
HAU'OLI LA HO'OMANA'O
It was very important that i incorporated Mama's fish house into the card since that is where they got married. I downloaded the grenouille font from www.dafont.com. using my Silhouette software I typed this at .44 inches tall and cut it out. I took some twine and wrapped it around a chrome brad and taped onto the building. I wanted to show their marriage here so I cut the couple using Cricut® Sweethearts Cartridge. I cut this couple at 2.5 inches tall and used foam squares to raise them up.
Here is a closer look at the foam squares I used and how I raised all the pieces up.
The inside of the card I wanted to make VERY special. I found their wedding picture from Mama's fish house on their facebook page. I downloaded the picture and imported it into the Silhouette Designer Edition software and cut it out at 3X5. Then using the offset feature in the software I made an offset at .25". Below that using the same font from the outside I ended with our personal greeting. I used the same border from the outside to tie the inside and outside together. This card got a huge reaction and a big hug!
