Okay I would lie if i said I was not intrigued by Silhouette America's little nugget they dropped today! You know that all of Facebook is buzzing right now. Silhouette announced some HUGE releases today. These include two new machine/tools to help with scrapbooking and some amazing new materials! You can see the entire release here:
The first release is something called the Silhouette Curio. According to Silhouette America:
This machine is more than a cutting tool. It can cut, emboss, sketch, stipple, and etch—it’s like a Swiss Army knife for your craft room. Unlock powerful new creative capabilities like Print & Emboss, Score & Emboss and Deep Cut.
It also looks like it still can use the cutting feature and the popular Print Then Cut. However it seems to be the only drawback is its limited size that it will be able to accommodate at only 8.5X6. It does however look as though you can buy a bigger plate to accommodate up to 8.5X12.
This is a huge advancement as Silhouette Fans have been asking for a deep cut blade system for a while. This little machine looks like it will pack a punch and give craters so much more potential.
HERE ARE SOME FAQ
The other exciting release was the new Silhouette Mint which seems to be a home based stamping system. According to Silhouette America:
The Silhouette Mint™ is the most innovative and powerful custom stamping system on earth. The machine’s special “thermal printing” feature lets you carve 3D reliefs of custom designs on Mint stamp sheets. Simply apply Mint inks to your stamp and you are ready to roll. Design it, Mint it, ink it, stamp it.
It looks like the Silhouette Mint will be a lot like another product I have been researching called the Casio Pomrie. Here is a video of that in action. Pay close attention to the machine at the end.
Now I have not seen the silhouette mint nor test it, but I think this is the same concept that will be used!
Also it looks like the good news for all of us apple and android fans that we will be able to start designing on the go with New Silhouette Cloud and Mobile!!! It looks like you will be able to design from all different mobile devises or your computer and save it to the cloud and pick up where-ever you want.
According to Silhouette the release schedule will be:
New materials announced will be availble late summer 2015. The Curio will be available starting September 2015. The Mint will be available starting October 2015. Silhouette Mobile and Silhouette Cloud will be availble later this Fall 2015.
