Hey Everyone! Ken here with Ken's Kreations.
Well, many of us were excited to see that the Cricut Explore gave us the ability to upload our own images. This included SVG, PNG and JPEG among many other formats. Now as consumers we had options to many SVG websites that we did not have the privilege to shop from before. One of the most popular websites to get adorable SVG, PNG and JPEG's from is Miss Kate Cuttable's. But how do you use these files in Cricut Design Space? How well do they cut on the Cricut Explore?

I have been a HUGE fan of Miss Kate Cuttable's since I started this blog. In fact you can check out this BLOG POST, where I use Miss Kate Cuttable's to decorate my Silhouette Cameo. So you can imagine how excited I was to be able to incorporate Miss Kate Cuttable's amazing designs with the superior cutting technology of the Cricut Explore. So in this video I wanted to show everyone who is new to the Cricut Explore how to upload, use and cut Miss Kate Cuttable's.
Here is a link with step-by-step instructions on how to upload and use your images in Cricut Design Space. I recommend either saving this page in your favorites or printing it out.
Now it can get confusing the differences between all of these file types! So, lets talk about each one and what they do.
SVG files is the main file people will use for paper piercings. This will cut out all the layers and you will build your paper piercings from the bottom up.
PNG files are a single layer image with a transparent background. These images are recommended for Print-then-Cut since you do not have to clean up the background.
JPEG are also single layer images but these have a white background and will require clean up in Cricut Design Space.
Now that you know what the different file types are you can now upload them into Cricut Design Space. When you upload PNG and JPEG files you have the ability to modify these images using the special tools. In the video we were able to eliminate certain areas of the Heart Border so the Cricut Explore cut inside the border versus just the outside.
In the video the result were astounding on how well the Cricut Explore cut the intricute Layered Rose file. The Cricut Explore is easy to use and has superior cutting technology. This is why I feel paired with Miss Kate Cuttable's it is a match made in HEAVEN!
