DIY R2D2 LED LIGHT-UP CANVAS PRINTS

Hey Everyone! Ken here with Ken's Kreations.

Well, this weekend I finally saw the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Yes, I know that I am probably the last person on earth to see this movie. Well, as big fans of the entire series, it inspired me to make some home decor for my craft room using some new compact Blue LED lights that I found from Oak Leaf.

I made a YouTube walking you through all the supplies you need and how easy these things come together. In this blog post I have also given you the written step-by-step instructions and all of the supplies needed to make your new out of this world R2D2 LED light-up canvas home decor.

Now you can either use the basic supplies or opt-in to use the Airbrush System and Cricut Explore Air to do a lot of the world. This is what I chose to do in my video, however, you can achieve the same result using just everyday Scissors and Foam Brush.

R2D2 CANVAS
1) Start with 1 8X8 Canvas and paint the entire canvas Blue using your Airbrush. Let Dry.
2) Cut your R2D2 out on White Vinyl using the  Cricut Explore Air. Cut off the bottom half of R2D2,
3) Lay Transfer Vinyl onto R2D2 and use a Brayer to adhere the Transfer Vinyl  to your White Vinyl
4) Lay your White Vinyl onto the painted Blue 8X8 Canvas and once again using your Brayer transfer the White Vinyl from the Transfer Vinyl to the 8X8 Canvas.
5) Remove the Transfer Vinyl and discard
6) Flip the 8X8 Canvas over to expose the backside.
7) Using small Blue LED Lights and Blue Scotch Tape, randomly place the blue lights on the backside of the canvas securing the Lights with the Tape.
8) Secure the battery pack with Scotch Mounting Tape.
9) Hang on the wall, turn on the lights and ENJOY!

R2D2 WORDS COMPANION CANVAS
1. Start with 1 8X8 Canvas but this time leave blank and unpainted
2. Design with your favorite R2D2 quotes using Star Wars Font.
3. Cut out the sayings on Stencil Vinyl and secure to the 8X8 Canvas ensuring all areas you DO NOT want covered in paint are not exposed.
4) Spray or paint the exposed areas with Blue paint using your Airbrush. Let Dry.
5) Remove Stencil Vinyl and discard.
