I started this project with a card template that can be found here. All of the paper used in this design was from the Close To My Heart Dakota Collection. This is a fun, masculine and colorful collection that really made this card a step above the rest. I wanted to make a masculine card that was a little dressed up and this collection was perfect. Once all of the pieces were cut I took a needle and some white baker's twine from the Baker's Twine Neutral Assortment and stitched along the whole perimeter of the card. 

Now lets look at the individual elements of the card. Lets start with the bow tie. I cut the bow tie and the base of the sentiment on 12" X 12" Black Cardstock and then used my Cuttlebug® A2 Swiss Dots Emboss Folder and ran that through my Cuttlebug® Machine. Then using white Liquid Glass I higlighted the dots from the embossed folder. In the middle of the bow tie I affixed a Opaques Pearl Adhesive Gems.

On the Sentiment, I took the base of the tan paper and raised it from the swiss dot black paper using 3-D Foam Tape. Once that was raised I took the "hello friend" and glued it to the Close To My Heart Dakota Collection paper and covered the lettering in Midnight Blue Stickles Glitter Glue. at the bottom of the sentiment I used some black gems from the Sparkles Black & Grey Assortment.
