I think i have told all of you that my brother is a huge Star Wars fan…..HUGE!!! So when ever I am able to I try to make him a Star Wars card. Well his birthday crept up on me this year with everything that was going on and on the day of his birthday I needed to make him a card. Out came the Silhouette Cameo to the rescue and my favorite feature the print and cut. I found this design on google.
I though this would be the perfect image to import into my designer software and trace, print and cut. So that is what I did and here is what happened:
Here is the front of the card. It features the Star Wars from the Clone Wars Animated Series on the Cartoon Network. I wanted the effect that the characters where standing at different distances on the card, so using foam squares I tried to accomplish this. In order to do this, I needed to print and cut 4 of the above element. This way I was able to cut out each character separately. Then using foam squares I layered them at different depths. See Below:
It is so hard to see how cool this really looked in real life, however trust me it was EPIC!!!!LOL!! As for the background of the card, I wanted to match the theme of the cartoon, so I stole that image as well from google and here it is:
As I said I did not have much time so the inside suffered a little bit, however here it is:
This was very simple. I used the Star Wars font found at www.dafont.com and came up wording as in the style of "Yoda". This was a print and cut as well. I used the line feature in the Silhouette Software and made the line thickness .25 and used the colors to match the lightsabers on the front of the card. I wish I had more time to spend on the inside of the card, however, he loved the outside, so it made up for it!!!!
