Hey Everyone! Ken here with another Ken's Kreation. Well today I wanted to make another Card-In-Box for my nephew and this time I wanted to make a theme around the popular game minecraft. At the bottom of this post you will see pictures and links for all the supplies and SVG's used in the project so make sure you head down to the end of the post if you need that information. Going forward I will have this on every one of my post as it has been requested by many of my subscribers.
I used my SILHOUETTE CAMEO for this project and the Print and Cut feature. Currently this is the only machine that I have that offers this option, however the CRICUT EXPLORE is launching this feature in September 2014. You can get the box card SVG BY CLICKING HERE.
I imported this into my SILHOUETTE CAMEO and cut this out on CRICUT BROWN PAPER. I used my EPSON ARTISAN 1430 wide format printer and printed out the BROWN, GREEN and BLUE backgrounds on 12X12 WHITE CARD STOCK.
Before I could import my MINECRAFT SVG files into the SILHOUETTE CAMEO software I wanted to convert the SVG files into PNG files and I had the perfect software rot do this. The SVG VIEWER program not only lets you view SVG files on your computer, but it also allows you to easily convert these files into a PNG files. I find it much easier to use the print and cut feature with PNG files in Silhouette Stuio than trying to use it with SVG files. So I took the SVG VIEWER program and converted all of the MINECRAFT SVG files into PNG files.
I moved next onto printed out the MINECRAFT SVG, which I also printed out on the EPSON ARTISAN 1430, however this time I printed this out on my favorite 8.5 X 11 GP CARD STOCK. I took the Sword and Axe and using my XRYON STICKER MAKER affixed them to the CTMH ELEMENTS SHAPES. I raised these up by using 3D FOAM TAPE. I took SILVER PEN and colored every other letter on the Minecraft and also raised it up using 3D FOAM TAPE. Using GREEN GELLY ROLLER PEN I wrote "Happy Birthday" on some BLACK PAPER.
Here is a close up of all the different characters I used from MINECRAFT SVG. These are courtesy of Annette Yoakum at the http://kraftynook.blogspot.com. These are FREE of charge. Once again you can find these and all of the other supplies I used on this project under my Shopping List down below. To raise up all the characters to different levels I used 3D FOAM TAPE.
What would a Minecraft card be without a creeper? So on the back of the card I hid a creeper ready to "creep" on our gamers on the front. He is raised up using one of my favorite tools, ACTION WOBBLERS. These give your element the look of motion when the card is shaken. I just love them. Well I hope you love this card as much as my nephew did. Make sure to check out the shopping list below and keep checking back to see what other kreations I come up with next!
