SILHOUETTE CAMEO VS CRICUT EXPLORE - PRINT THEN CUT

Hey Everyone! Ken here with KENS KREATIONS.

As soon as Print Then Cut became available on the CRICUT EXPLORE I knew I wanted to compare the new technology with the Print Then Cut on the SILHOUETTE CAMEO. In this comparison video I show you not only how to Import/Trace the images in both DESIGN SPACE and SILHOUETTE STUDIO. I am using PNG files from PPBN DESIGNS and SCRAPPY DEW. I print all of the designs out on 110 LB GEORGIA PAPER. Below the video you will also see the photos showing the comparison of all the items:

Check out these close up photos so you can see the difference between the CRICUT EXPLORE and the SILHOUETTE CAMEO. Now with the CRICUT EXPLORE they do offer a dynamic bleed option for their Print Then Cut, however I do show you some examples with this Dynamic Bleed ON and OFF. Also many have noted that you can make a bleed in the SILHOUETTE STUDIO by simple making an offset and choosing a color that is close behind it. However for the CRICUT EXPLORE in  DESIGN SPACE they offer a dynamic bleed that mimics multiple colors behind it. Take a look:

As you can tell, the CRICUT EXPLORE does a much better job with Print Then Cut. Now some might argue that with the SILHOUETTE CAMEO you can get better results by adjusting your threshold, pass filters and scales. However the point is, you do not have to do this with the CRICUT EXPLORE. The amazing thing is the 3 EASY STEPS that allow you to Print Then Cut in DESIGN SPACE is what makes this my machine of choice when it comes to Print Then Cut. Sorry Silhouette Cameo fans.....but I think the video and pictures speak volumes. I invite everyone who has both of these machines to compare them and see for yourself!!

  1. Vinyl cutting machines are all the rage these days and for good reason! If you’re looking to get into DIY projects, or simply want a machine that can help you make professional-looking products, a vinyl cutter is a great investment. Silhouette is one of the leading brands when it comes to vinyl cutting machines, and their Cameo 4 series is their latest and greatest. In this Silhouette Cameo 4 review, I’ll take a look at some of the features and limitations that will help this is for you or not. The Silhouette Cameo 4 best one among Cameo series
