KNIGHT GRADUATION CARD

Hey Everyone! Ken here with Ken's Kreations.

Well as everyone knows we are in full swing of graduations. I graduated high school in 1999 from East Valley High School and I still look back at my days in High School as some of my fondest memories. Now 15 years later I am fortunate enough to have all my nieces, nephews and even second cousins all graduate from my alma mater. Now this is awesome in the fact that I get to make cards that center around my old stomping ground. HOWEVER, it also means that ALL my graduation cards have mostly been "KNIGHTS" themed since this is the mascot of East Valley High School. Well here is another to add to the collection:

TO MAKE THIS CARD USE THE CRICUT DESIGN SPACE FILE:
CRICUT DESIGN SPACE FILE
For this card I used my Cricut Explore Air to handle all of the cutting, The card is sized at 5X7 and works up to the base of the card to 4X6 in .25 increments.

Here is the following Card Stock I Used:
Grey Rectangle Base: Cricut Antiquity Card Stock
White Card Base & Paper For Print Then Cut: GP Card Stock
Black/Grey Pattern Paper Base: DCWV Lemon Flower

I used basic shapes for the card base and the rectangles. The knight actually came from Medieval Fantasy which is a Design Space exclusive Print-Then-Cutseries. You can purchase each item separate for .99 or they are FREE if you are part of the Cricut Subscription Plan. Since the night was  Print-Then-Cut file I was able to print him out on my GP Card Stock using my Epson Artisan 1430 and proceeded to cut out the knight using my  Cricut Explore Air. (CLICK HERE TO SEE HOW TO PRINT-THEN-CUT USING THE CRICUT EXPLORE AIR )

Now for the 2015 and sentiment frame I used two different cartridges,  Print-Then-Cut and the Foil Method. For the 2015 I used Anna Griffin Soiree Letter Cartridge and for the frame I used the retired Creative Memories Holiday Tags. Now both of these I used the Print-Then-Cut, but unlike the knight above I needed to make sure to change both of these images to the color black. Why? Well I wanted to foil these images and in order to do this using my Cricut Explore Air I need to have the items Print-Then-Cut using a monochrome laser printer. In this case I used the Brother Monochrome Laser. Once I printed this out using this printer I was able to cut it on my Cricut Explore Air. Once this was done I was able to run both of these items with Gold Foil and Green Foil through my Scotch Thermal Laminator. (CLICK HERE TO SEE HOW TO DO THE FOIL METHOD)

Now the final piece of the frame on using the Creative Memories Holiday Tags was the sentiment I used. I found this sentiment on the Anna Griffin Garden Cards cartridge which includes sentiments that you can write with your Cricut Explore Air.

Now since this sentiment has thin lines you will want to use the Cricut Variety Pen Set, which includes a fine point pen to write fine detailed sentiments as you see above. I found this sentiment and attached it to just the inside piece of the frame. (CLICK HERE TO SEE HOW TO USE ATTACH FEATURE) Once you have the attach feature set and tell Design Space that you are using the write feature, your Cricut Explore Air will do the rest. Now we have all of our pieces  Print-Then-CutFoiled, and ready to go. Now we just need to assemble the card. I used GoldWhite and Silver glitter ribbon on the left hand side of the card. After that I was amble to place my frame with the sentiment and foil and on the edges I added some Bling, I raised up the knight using 3D Foam Tape
