MY FAVORITE 6 CRAFT ROOM TIPS

Hey everyone!  Ken here with Ken's Kreations.

So one of the most requested videos i get through YouTube is a tip videos. Many people will ask what my favorite tips I use in my craft room on a daily basis. Well, first of all I need to let everyone know that crafting to me is a release form everyday life. So in these tips you will see some tips that I do to get ready to craft, make crafting cheaper, easier and give me more space.

So in the video we saw a few tips that make my crafting experience so much more enjoyable. Those tips included:

TIP #1 - SCENTSY WAX REMOVAL

The first tip is one of my favorite. I like to get my craft room smelling just right for my big craft project. Most of the time I still have hot Wax in my Scentsy Warmer so here is the tips. While the Wax is still hot, take a few Cotton Balls and drop them into the Scentsy Warmer and let the Cotton Balls absorb the wax. You made need to use 4-5 Cotton Balls and the final Cotton Balls clean out the bowl. Then simply drop your new Scentsy Wax into the  Scentsy Warmer.

TIP #2 - KEEPING YOUR COFFEE WARM

The second tip is one MANY crafters already use, however I have just found out about this little nugget of goodness. I am a huge coffee and teas drinker, but while I craft I forget about my beverage and it cools off very quickly. Well, a simple solution to this is to purchase a Candle Warmer. Simple plug this into the wall, turn it on and place your mug directly on it and keep your beverage warm while you craft. So many crafters and people use this already, but like i said it was a gem for me to find.

TIP #3 - DRYER SHEET DIE CUTTING

I love using my Cut'N'Boss for die cutting, however I do not like the mess I need to clean up afterwards. I usually have to clean out my metal die and figure out where all my pieces go. Well, this tip has saved me a ton of time. All you need to do is layer 3-4 Dryer Sheets onto of you die with paper and run this through your favorite embosser. The Dryer Sheets will act as a stabilizer for your die and keep everything in place. You can use fragrance free Dryer Sheets if you are sensitive to those smells and you can re-use the same Dryer Sheets over and over!

TIP #4 - SPRAY ADHESIVE FOR INTRICATE DESIGNS

Sometimes when we craft we find ourselves with some intricate cuts and designs. Well, normal I use Aleene's Turbo Glue or Zig 2 Way Glue, however both of these leave behind glue residue and I do not get a nice even coverage. That is when I use Elmers Spray Adhesive on the back of the design. This gives the design a nice even coverage of adhesive that is strong and durable. Also no mess to clean up afterwards, just make sure spray the adhesive with paper behind or in a box to avoid over spray.

TIP #5 - CORD CLIPS TO SAVE SPACE WITH ALL OF YOUR MACHINES

So as many of you know I have a lot of crafting machines, but not a lot of counter space. So the next tip will help all of you who need more space. You can find these Command Cord Clips at any store and they are a perfect solution for this. All of the crafting machine cords fit perfectly in the Command Cord Clips. Since they are double sided adhesive, I am able to stick them anywhere. I went ahead and put a cord clip for each of my machines behind the counter. All of these machine power cords are plugged into a surge protector and then when i need a specific machine I pull it out and simple plug it in. HUGE space saving tip!

TIP #6 - DIY FOAM DOTS AND SQUARES

For my last tip I want to share with you something that has greatly impacted my budget in the craft room. I am a HUGE fan of using Foam Dots and Foam Tape in projects to make them pop. However depending on the size of the project this can get VERY expensive! So a tip I ran into was using Peel & Stick Foam Sheets to make your own Foam Dots. You can simply cut them to any length, shape, size and use multiple sheets for additional thickness. You can even match them to the color of the project you will be working with so they blend in. If you want to stack them for additional thickness just use your Scotch ATG or Xyron Sticker Maker to add adhesive to the other side!

Well I hope you enjoyed these 6 tips for your craft room! Make sure to like, subscribe and comment if you want to see more int he future. For all of the materials used in this project and video make sure to look below at the shopping list!
