Anyways, ever since a couple of years ago my dream has been to purchase a 3D Printer, however, with today's market prices this is still a dream. My dream did get a little closer with this little tool. The Leungyo 3D Printing pen. So let's talk about the most important thing first! What color do these bad boys come in! I know that this is the most important thing for us crafty people! It has to match our room! The Leuangyo 3D Printing Pen comes in the following colors:
Now let's talk about this tool and what we thought and of course what we made with them, but first I wanted to clear up some confusion I have already run into with these pens
. These are NOT to be confused with the IDO3D pens that you might see in Michaels or Joann's, Those pens run on batteries and use a blue curing light to turn a sticky glue mess into a more solid glue mess. I DO NOT recommend the IDO3D and please DO NOT confuse them with the 3D Pens on the market that use electricity to heat the plastic.
Alright, now that we have that out of the way lets take a closer look at the Leuangyo 3D Printing Pen.

So, how does it do all of this? The Leuangyo 3D Printing Pen uses filaments that you can extrude out of the nozzle/tip once they have been heated. The pen features a pre-heat option that heats up in seconds so you are ready to start your creativity. As the filament exits the pen, it instantly cools and solidifies as you begin to draw and create! Once your masterpiece is cooled, you have a strong and stable foundation so you can continue to build either up, down or across in 3D. When using the PLA plastic filaments, when you stop, it continues to "ooze" out the tip. You get strews of plastic on your doodle that is about the size a strand of hair and you will have to cut them off. ABS plastic is a bit dull, not shiny like the PLA plastic. When you use the templates, the plastic sticks to the paper. The company is working on that. If you are freestyling, use wax paper or even card stock paper. The silicone mat would be awesome!
Other than that, this 3D pen was a blast to use and I had lots of fun with it. So many things you could make or doodle. Your imagination is your world of wonder! Just remember parents, this is for 8 years and up, but I think if you are there to help, younger ones could do it too! So go out there and create something magical!
