Hey Everyone! Ken here with Kens Kreations!
My nephew recently joined football and it is his entire world. Now, as many of you know masculine cards can be hard to come up with! That is why I often turn to Sports Mania cartridge. This was one of the first Cricut Cartridges I owned. With this Cartridge and using Fun Stampers Journey Product, I was able to come up with this.
So this card was pretty easy to make since the Sports Mania offers the graphics with a square background. The sentiment can be found off one of my favorite Cricut Cartridges, which is called Wild Card 2. This was a follow up to their successful Wild Card Cartridge.
Now in Cricut Design Space you can bring in the square football graphic from Sports Mania. Then using Cricut Design Space basic shapes bring in a square shape and size it to 5"H X 10"W and then Attach a Score line at 5" inches. If you are not sure to use the Attach feature CLICK HERE. If you would rather have the link to the project, join my Patreon Club where I share all my projects. Here is what your card should look like in Cricut Design Space.
Once you have the card planned the rest is pretty easy. I cut the project using my Cricut Explore Air 2. The base of the card was cut using Cricut White Cardstock and for the football I used the dark red paper found in the Southwest Cricut Cardstock Sampler. The Happy Birthday Sentiment was cut out using Black Cricut Cardstock for the base and different shades of green from the Craft Smith Green Pack.
I wanted these to have the look of football leather. To accomplish this I used my Cricut Cuttlebug with the Tiny Bubble Embossing Folder. Keep in mind the 5X5 card will shrink a tad due to the embossing. If you want the card to still be at the 5X5 size you will need to cut the square football a little larger to compensate for this. Once the football was cut I inked the embossing job with Fun Stampers Journey Cranberry Ink using Round Blending Tool. To get an even layer of adhesive, I used the Xyron Creation Station.
The sentiment was pieced together with the items I cut out also using the Xyron Creation Station. To bling out the sentiment I used Fun Stampers Journey Color Silks. Not sure what those are? check out my video review by CLICKING HERE. I felt like the card was too basic, so I found some Wood Stars in my Fun Stampers Journey stash. I spruced them up using Fun Stampers Journey Re-Inker.
I have listed all of the supplies and files I used to make this card down below. Please use the links below to shop and by doing so you will be helping support Ken's Kreations!!
