CAT LADY BIRTHDAY CARD - WIN A CRICUT EXPLORE

Hey Everyone! Ken here with Ken's Kreations.

Today I am present the third and final project this week focusing on features of the Cricut Explore Air and Win A Cricut Explore Air contest (see bottom of the post).

One of my favorite features of the Cricut Explore Air is the writing feature the amchine is capable of. Now the cricut explore comes with Design Space which gives you the ability to import your font files. Take a look at this video to get a better idea of this feature that we will be using on today's projects.

Do you have anyone in your family who just loves cats? Does this person have multiple cats? Like more than 3? Well that is what I define as a cat lady. My niece is a cat lover and has 4 of them in her apartment (she claims 2 of them are her roommates). Well my family and I lovingly now refer to her as the "crazy cat lady", so I knew exactly what card I wanted to make her:

This card was super easy to make and I am able to provide the Design Space for this so all you have to do is load the project and cut using your Cricut Explore Air. You can get the link to this card by CLICKING HERE. For this card I started with my favorite paper collection, Cricut Paper. This paper is the 8.5X12 size and is 80lb with a textured finish. I used the Candy ShopAntiquityWildflowers and Southwest. Using this paper I cut out all the different cat images that can be found on the Meow Cricut Cartridge. Once the cats were cut out Design Space will promt you to write your sentiment on your card. For this I used the Lyrical Letter 2 Cricut Cartridge. Now Lyrical Letter 2 Cricut Cartridge  supports over 5 different writing styles. In Design Space you can upload or purchase single line type fonts that have a style as if you wrote it yourself. These are my favorite type of font files. I used the Cricut Fine Point/Calligraphy Pen Set

Once all of the pieces were cut and the sentiment was wrote on the card I was able to start shading the cats. For this process I used some Sponge Daubers along with multiple colors from the Memento Ink Dewdrops and shade all the edges of the cats with coordinating (but slightly darker) colors. Once the ink was dried I was able to lay the back layers of the cat using my favorite adhesive tool my Scotch ATG. The front row of the cats I raised up from the card using Foam Tape

I just love how this project turned out and how easy it was using the Writing Feature feature in Cricut Design Space. I will be featuring one more projects NEXT week highlighting other features of the Cricut Explore Air

Now I am excited to announce that I am giving one of my lucky subscribers a change to win a Cricut Explore Air. Make sure to take a look at ALL of the different ways to enter this contest. You have a 7 different ways to enter this contest that will give you a TOTAL of 10 entries!!
